Neither of us got to thank you properly on the actual day, we were both just blown away by the whole thing! it completely outdid all our expectations. It would take all day to write about what we loved about it, but believe me we loved all the details that you managed to cover.....down to the candles and flowers and, in particular, the smooth running of the ceremony for two people who were suddenly hit by nerves!....
Please pass on our thanks to Andrea and his team for the spectacular presentation of food. His team are very pleasant and professional and looked after the coeliacs and vegetarians perfectly. The atmosphere at the villa was more magical than we could have imagined....

Documentation Services
CIVIL WEDDINGS
A civil wedding in Italy normally can take place only in ‘official locations’ and, generally, this means the town hall (Comune). However, most Italian town halls are in historic buildings with frescoed rooms and art and make a very special place for a wedding.
Some town halls, particularly those in the larger and more well known cities and towns, charge a fee and perform marriages only at certain times on certain days. But many town halls in smaller towns still do not charge for weddings and are much more flexible with days and times. Couples are advised to check with us if they have a particular day or time in mind.
DOCUMENTATION SERVICE FOR CIVIL WEDDINGS
English is not widely spoken in Italy and the obtaining of the required legal documents can be time-consuming and daunting without a reasonable understanding of the Italian language
SALVE UMBRIA provides full assistance in obtaining all the necessary paperwork both in the home country and in Italy. Our service includes booking the town hall and the collection and handling of all legal documents required by the civil authorities. Salve Umbria also provides an English mother tongue interpreter at both the pre-wedding 'declaration' and at the civil ceremony.
Couples should plan to arrive in Italy two to three working days before the wedding to allow for the completion of the documentation.

CHURCH WEDDINGS
ONLY Roman Catholic church weddings are legal and recognised in Italy and do not require a civil ceremony prior to the marriage.
For all other denominations a civil ceremony is required to take place, before any church ceremony or blessing, for the marriage to be legal.
Couples should always check with us first that the church of their choice is available as permission always has to be obtained from the parish priest or bishop of the Italian diocese.
Salve Umbria can arrange for an English, Roman Catholic, priest to conduct the wedding service.

The wedding planning services are shown as a guide and can, of course, be adjusted to meet your precise requirements.
We offer a very personal, professional, experienced and friendly wedding planning service and we take full responsibility for the smooth running of the wedding ceremony (civil or church) and the wedding reception.
Our service includes:
1. Initial meeting in Italy to discuss your ideas: Accompanied visits to town halls or churches and to potential venues.
2. Documentation: Full information and assistance with all aspects of the paperwork required by the church and civil authorities in Italy. Provision of an interpreter where needed.
3. Catering: We are very fortunate to work with a terrific caterer. (Please read the feedback on this website) Your choice of menu, buffet of antipasti and desserts to drool over! All drinks and up to one bottle of wine per guest at the seated meal are included in the menu price.
4. Music: Trio, quartet, harpist, gospel singers and others can all be provided for your ceremony. A live band, guitarist, DJ for the reception.
5. Flowers: We work with several florists depending on your requirements. We use local seasonal flowers but can also import from Holland other varieties which are not always available in Italy.
6. Transportation: Happy guests ensure a happy wedding!! We are able to organise buses and transport to pick up and return your guests to airports. We can organise buses for guests on the wedding day and a shuttle service back at night to hotels after the reception.
7. Babysitters: Provided when needed. Where there is a pool, a pool attendant when children are present.
8. Hair and Makeup: For the bride, bridesmaids and family with a trial for the bride beforehand. Manicures and massage also available. Salon bookings for guests.
9. Photographer: We work with three excellent photographers who offer a range of services. We have sample books to show you.
10. Guest accommodation: We recommend suitable accommodation for Agriturismo, hotels, B&B’s and villa rentals according to the area chosen.
11. Pre-wedding visit to Italy: To dine at the caterer and to choose the menu and wines and then to run through every other detail of the
wedding.
12. The organisation of pre- or post-wedding events (excluding hen/stag parties which we regret we do not organise).
13. Our attendance throughout the church or civil ceremony and at the reception.
